The formation of social capital for sustainable development among the population of the City of Puebla in 2025
Abstract
The objective of this work is to share the results of research on the relationship between social capital and the promotion of sustainable development, based on a field study among 340 people living in the city of Puebla, carried out in mid-2025. The specific objectives of the research were: 1) to measure the social capital of the population from the point of view of its perception, using indicators traditionally accepted for this purpose; 2) detect the willingness of this population to carry out activities conducive to the formation of social capital, and; 3) detect their willingness to carry out activities to promote sustainable development. With the help of Pearson's correlation analysis and least squares regression, a strong positive relationship was found between the two detected dispositions, so it can be said that the greater the social capital, the greater the promotion of sustainable development among the population.
